Journeir was a conceptual project that supplemented primary client work during my internship. This project’s aim was to foster and challenge my creativity and design development.

The brand’s mission is to become a trusted companion and guide for travelers on their journey of discovery and exploration. They emphasize the spirit of wanderlust and the thrill of exploration.

Overview

My Role

My role was to craft an engaging landing page and a unique visual identity for Journeir that aligns with their mission and target audience.

The Audience

Adventurous individuals and travel enthusiasts who crave authentic experiences, cultural immersion, and off-the-beaten-path adventures.

I created a mood board to bring shape and foundation to the overall visual identity of Journeir. I wanted to convey adventure, fun, and excitement, ultimately facilitating brand recognition and trust with users.

Colors

Orange represents curiosity and excitement. It was important for me to create a feeling of wanderlust and adventure while encompassing the nuances and diversity of travel experiences. Keeping the color palette minimal and intentional allows for increased brand recognition.

Fonts

Journeir’s aim is to be a reliable and trusted travel companion. Ostrich Sans as the display font conveys boldness as a commitment to providing one of a kind travel experiences. Cotham Sans enables readability. It provokes a sense of playfulness and curiosity, consistent with the brand’s overall theme.

Landing Page

Taking the brand’s mission and the mood board’s design elements, I crafted an engaging landing page that allows users to discover niche travel itineraries. There were no technical constraints, however, I continued to uphold good UX design practice to maintain usability and platform engagement.

TAKEAWAYS

Journeir was a small project that had a great impact. Researching what it meant to craft a credible, trusting, and engaging brand taught me a lot about the impact of color, typography, and other visual elements. Creating this identity from scratch and having the creative liberties to take it any direction was not only incredibly fun, but also quite challenging. I pivoted the color scheme and fonts many times but ultimately landed on something I knew could be supported by research and precedence.

Overall, Journeir was such a cool project that allowed me to think freely and vibrantly. It provided me an opportunity for a more graphic/visual task which is something I haven’t been able to pursue in other projects. I owe a huge thank you to my mentors and managers at KG for providing me with this experience!
